Neighbours noisy boiler

Any advice please on what can I do about this?

Neighbours across the road moved out and the house is now a permanent air bnb. Despite the fact that we have restrictive covenants on our properties not allowing us to run businesses from them but that's another matter.

For months we have been getting woken up at 6.30 am on the dot by what can only be described as a loud foghorn noise. It goes twice at that time and then again at 4 other times during the day which are less irritating as at least they don't wake us up. It's not just us. The 4 or 5 other neighbours I've mentioned it to are also disturbed by it. Last week we realised it was coming from the air bnb every time their boiler turns on to heat the water.

I subsequently learnt that another neighbour had reported it to the owners at the end of May and it hadn't been resolved or followed up. I messaged the owners last Sunday with a recording of the noise and had a response back saying that she would get British Gas out to fix it. I know that British Gas are currently on a 3 day turnaround for repairs in my area so I was hopeful that it would be sorted this week. I messaged the owner this morning for an update as the thing is still blaring and she has ignored me. I've just done a live chat with British Gas to try and find out when the engineer will be coming as the early wake ups will be marginally less annoying if we know there is an end in sight. They have confirmed that no fault has been reported and no engineer visit is booked. So there is another week gone and we are still being subjected to the morning foghorn. Is there anything I can do if they just don't bother to get it fixed? We are at the mercy of random tenants turning it on whenever as is their right but it's really starting to do my head in.

if it starts when drawing water it sounds like the diversion solenoid, we had a boiler that started doing it, replaced solenoid & that was it, relatively cheap fix

Could it be an environmental health issue? I mean it must be a major fault if the noise is so loud you can hear it across the street! Could well be very dangerous!

We have a boiler engineer on the street who said it's more than likely a valve issue/meter issue. The noise from it is in the street not inside their house. Honestly it's awful. I can't believe they haven't even tried to sort it. Well I can because when I look at the reviews they have on the various sites they use to let it out I'm amazed anyone even would want to risk staying there.

It’s not dangerous, but the noise is intensified by the flu. The unit is like a T bar it moves left or right depends on what you have asked the boiler to do…, heat the house or draw water it just sticks in a position until it moved

I’m amazed that British Gas told you about appointments for another property!

I was surprised as well. I was able to confirm the address and the owner's name though and just wanted to know if they had an engineer booked in. They just confirmed there was not.
