Bridge has broken and I'm at a festival

It's ruining my festival. I have a dental bridge due to hypodontia right at the front and it has broken. It now has a bit of white material on it and you can see all the metal. It looks disgusting and I don't want to open my mouth. It's uncomfortable and is abrasive against my lip. I've just got here, am 4 hours away from my dentist and am not back home until Tuesday when I have meetings. I don't know what to do. How can i let this not ruin my weekend? I've always hated my teeth and just feel really horrible. I don't want to talk to anyone because my teeth are very visible when I talk.

I’m so sorry that is ridiculous. Are you private or nhs? They can’t leave you like that, we absolutely wouldn’t. I’m in London, please feel free to pm me if we can help.

I'm in East Anglia. They don't have any appointments. That's really kind but I sadly can't get to London as I have no annual leave 😢

How old is the bridge? The dental lab my dentists use can do same day / next day fixes if needed. If it’s a recent denture they should still have your scans and be able to produce a new bridge without needing a dentists appointment.

Do you have Denplan cover?

If you have sharp bits, the wax from a Baby bel cheese might help. Ds uses to use that when he had braces instead of dental wax.

Why would a private local dentist not see you as an emergency appointment? Ring around.

I can't afford private dentistry.

You poor thing. I’m so sorry, dentistry is just shocking now. When is your appointment?

Do you still have the bit that fell off?

I also have hypodontia and a bridge, and when the false tooth started moving just before a big presentation at a conference a local private dentist took it off and re-cemented it in one appointment. I paid about £80 (their emergency appointment fee). I appreciate it would be more if you need new bits making for it though.

I also have hypodontia which is why I have the bridge, but no I don't have yhr bit that fell off. Otherwise I would have had the superglue out 😅
