It's a regular thing. We live in a street where there's a house with people coming and going all obviously high. Often outside very loud.
I've got the window open and they're at it again. So loud. Not screaming at each other just bits of arguing.
I've contacted the police online. They said ring emergency at first but I said it's more an antisocial problem and I'll just contact the council tomorrow if they don't have anyone on patrol?
They then said they'll send someone out to check the street.
They wanted me to give a description. I said I'm not going outside. They're all obviously drunk high or both. I just know which house it is as it's always there. A few doors up.

So would you have bothered or just wait and contact council? It's common all over the area tbh and nothing seems to get done so am thinking I've wasted my time?

They're arguing as I type so hopefully police will turn up soon?

I have earplugs somewhere? I'll try and find them. I'm not at work until the weekend but have a busy day today. Plus if I nap in the day it cocks up my sleep pattern.

God it's really kicking off now. 🤞Hope the police come soon.

When i phoned to report smashed windows they wanted to know my ethnicity aswell as date of birth. I told them i thought that was highly irrelevant!

What!! That's shocking.

Did they mention possible race/hate crime? I just can't think why else they'd ask?

That's appalling. Are dcs still there?

Next door neighbour DD was eventually removed. I think DD is 19 now and had both her children removed from her as well and are now living with the next door neighbour ( recovering alcoholic apparently) I know ironic ! .

The police will record demographic information about people both reporting and committing crimes for monitoring purposes. Hardly shocking.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 22/07/2023 10:45

They always ask your day of birth, address, name and number so they can add you to the log or crime as the reporting person. They will be searching you up on police systems so will use DOB to do this too. If you don't want to give just say you want to be anonymous.

The ethnicity is a home office thing. You don't have to answer but police get checked to make sure they at least ask.

Epicstorm · 22/07/2023 10:46

They always seem to ask for dob. I’ve told them in the past that they didn’t need to know and they haven’t insisted.

It's so sad the way the cycle of abuse goes.

It really is .it's shocking that the authorities thinks it is acceptable to place 2 children with the women who caused her daughters problems in the first place. Will start all over again and I know kids are involved but as a neighbour I now refuse to get involved any further my own life is too important.

I had to report my next door neighbour because of abuse. It was only because I was stuck in my bedroom during the day with covid that I realised they'd locked the 3 year old in the bedroom. I heard the man shouting awful things at him (not dad) I reported to police, nspcc and SS. I even told them to their face. I was fuming. I wanted to smash his face in but I'd have lost my job. Eventually they were taken off her. God knows what they suffered before that. They don't live there now.

It's very difficult , I think there are so many cases the authorities can't deal with it . It is hard when it's on the other side of the wall from you and it's difficult not to get involved because it affects your own life so much . I know myself at one point I was only getting 2 hours sleep a night it was crazy .

No they're at it again. DH is asleep. He can sleep through anything.

DH like this too. He can't hear neighbour noise and I just can't understand why. It makes it difficult to complain when only one is hearing the noise.
