AIBU to think Kellogg's day out vouchers are shit

Never used one before but I know people always seem to be clamouring over them... I finally have DC old enough and reason to use one.

Voucher offer is one person free with one full priced ticket. £64. Must be booked in advance.

A non voucher 'normal' ticket booked in advance is £37.

So rather than really getting one person free, I'll save £10.

I know it will be tied up in Ts & Cs but AIBU to think it's a bit shit?

Pretty much all free kids or half price attraction tickets need an accompanying full paying adult.

3within3 · 20/07/2023 13:51

If you buy a kids ticket you get an adult ticket free. It’s a really good deal.
The £64 is an example of the highest value freebie you can get (prices vary depending on the different attractions)

You can also use it to do buy a kids ticket get a kids ticket free. I used them to go on the london eye. 3 kids and 3 adults. I only had to pay for 3 kids. Saved loads

You're still getting something for free/ a discount aren't you? Don't participate if you don't want to. I think YABU.

Mary46 · 20/07/2023 14:59

I found it great as one adult free so paid x1 for London eye.

Saschka · 20/07/2023 15:01

Depends on where you are going, but we used them on the London Sealife centre and it was definitely cheaper.

You can also re-use the same voucher (the attractions don’t particularly seem to care), so one box of cereal gets you into the London Eye, Sealife and whatever else.

They're doing it to make you buy their product, not for the good of the world so to speak. It's still a discount.

Probably better value to not buy Kellog's, save the difference for a year and get more value.

That interesting about the London Eye. I'm looking at Chessington and perhaps it's just a bad example.

There is NO difference between adult and child >3 years old tickets. (I know they have off season toddler options but that doesn't apply to us).

The ONLY ticket price available in the offer is £64.

It smacks of being a completely con full price which no one would ever pay to then enable a so-called offer.

I think it's shit and I'm disappointed, but encouraged that other venues might be a better option.

Ah right yeah I see what you mean. It’s because chessington has a sale on at the moment where the tickets are basically half price. You can’t use the offer on half price tickets so effectively it’s the same deal either way. But on the plus side you’re getting a half price deal whichever way you buy it?
I guess it’s fair enough because if you could use the vouchers in conjunction with the sale you’d be getting 75% off which is not going to make chessington much money.
If I were you I’d do the half price tickets and save the Kelloggs ones til after the sale and then go somewhere after September then you get two half price trips.
