To hand in my notice or not?

Hi, thought I'd post here for advice!
I have always been terrible at making decisions and I'm getting my self into a tizz!
I was offered a job in private sector ( currently in NHS) accepted and still haven't handed in my notice.

I don't know if it's fear of the unknown or should I stay put. My job currently is comfortable with up to 10 miles travel each way. New job is more unknown but probably a bit more varied, maybe more travel depending on what work comes un. Money is better but it doesn't match holidays, pension etc of NHS
I feel I'm stagnating a bit in current role but worried I'm jumping from firepan into fire

Should I just go for it or will I regret leaving comfortable NHS role! Also worried about letting manager know for some reason

Thanks in advance

You’ve accepted a new job, so if you reverse that decision, you’ll be letting the new boss down.

Presumably you applied for the job, so must have been actively looking, unless you were headhunted. In which case, they must think you’re capable, or they wouldn’t have offered.

Id go with the new offer you accepted. Write a factual letter of resignation for the one you’re leaving and give it to your manager.

It depends what your current job and the prospective job is and also your family commitments etc.
I would personally probably stay in current NHS position especially if more comfortable in terms of commute, annual leave etc but then love my job and my life outside of work is really important too. However if I was very bored or unhappy in current role then I would change. I don’t think the change is worth it just for a bit of extra money as never is that much by the time all the deductions and possibly extra costs of commuting and childcare
and just not worth it for the extra hassle. I’m lucky that my NHS role has quite a few developmental opportunities if I wanted to take them, is there anyone you could speak to at your trust about what may be available?
