He's 28. He needs a root canal and a crown. Its going to cost around £1500. He can't/won't pay for it himself and tbf it would be over half his monthly take home pay. He can have it pulled for £100. No its not possible to go NHS or get it cheaper. I'm going to pay because I can afford it. We might have to sacrifice a short break to afford it, but thats not our only holiday. Lot's of people say we are mad and they wouldn't pay. But I want him to have good teeth. Am I being unreasonable to pay for this? What would you do? I am going to pay whatever the outcome of the vote!

Yeah, my parents have paid for similar dentistry for me a couple of times. Probably around £5000 worth of non-cosmetic essential dentistry. I was earning well in the public sector but can’t cover this. As it’s essential health costs, if they didn’t pay I would have probably taken out a loan or credit card as the only alternative is losing your teeth.

I think it’s weird that some people pride themselves at not helping their adult children (when they could help obviously)

Lots of people are telling you that you’re man? How many people do you need to consult before deciding on doing something for your child, adult or not?
