I feel so awful I could just cry and cry

Have tonsillitis, started antibiotics a few days ago but since then I've just felt worse and it now feels as if it's went into my chest. Painful to swallow and now developed a cough which is really sore on chest when I cough.

I'm so fed up of feeling unwell and thought the antibiotics would have helped by now.

I know people have it so much worse, bless them and I should count myself lucky. Just feeling sorry for myself this morning 😢.

I have so much on today that I can't get out of either. Ugh.

I had tonsillitis on and off as a young woman for a year. It made me so depressed and I eventually had them taken out.

With antibiotics you should be feeling a little better by now. Go back to the doctor. You also need to rest.

It could be viral tonsilitis in which case antibiotics wouldn't work. Or you could have the wrong type of antibiotics. I would definitely go back to your GP ASAP as you are feeling worse so they can check you over again. I am another one who's had quinsy and it is so awful, can make you seriously ill so defo recommend not leaving it just in case this is the way you are heading.

Oh tonsillitis is horrific, you poor thing. Agree with others that you should get checked out again if the antibiotics aren't kicking in at all. DS ended up in hospital with quinsy when he was 6, it's really nasty.

So strange, within past hour or two I have been feeling so much better. Almost back to normal. Fell back asleep then woke up about 8 am and took more antibiotics and painkillers and felt almost back to normal since then. Still a tiny bit of pain when I swallow but nothing like it was. What a difference.
