I’ve had an operation and I’m not allowed to do anything for 4 weeks. We are lucky to have help with school drop offs with my mum and school pick ups from childminder.

My hubby is having to do the day to day bits around the house (dishwasher, washing, tidying, uniforms, lunch boxes etc) we have a cleaner for a weekly clean.

Hubby is expecting a lot of gratitude for all he’s doing and he thinks most men wouldn’t do all he’s doing. He thinks I’m not appreciative. He works full time and is under the impression people who work full time wouldn’t do all he does and men aren’t ‘designed’ to do the day to day stuff.

I work 4 days a week 8-5 and have to do all he’s doing without the help of a cleaner.

He pulls his weight when I’m able in the evenings after work we both tidy up after dinner and put the kids to bed etc together (when I’m able)

it's certainly not a strange or bazaar point of view, somehow via parenting men are culturally/socially taught this is not their domain.
same with changing diapers. they expect tons of praise for doing stuff girls and women are conditioned to think is their tasks to master.
teach your son's a different view, that of everyone being in this boat together.
