AIBU to use a massage gun?

I'm 9 months post partum, I had a c-section. This was my second.

My scar has healed well after initial issues but seems really adhered just above my pubic area. It noticeably cinches in under my abdomen.

I'm not sure that if this is an overhang as I do still have a bit of weight to lose, probably around a stone.

I'd like to see if I can release the adhesion, to see if this improves the appearance. In my wisdom, I thought a massage gun would be a reasonable way to achieve this.

What do you think? Anyone have experience?

AIBU - Jeez, no, no chance. You'll do yourself some damage.
YANBU - Aye, go on then. Gie it a bash. What's the worst that can happen?!

Why not start with gentle fascia release?
Try following Human Garage on Instagram.
Maybe hold off on the gun.

Thanks. I'll have a look.

It's not an area that takes kindly to massage guns - the skin is very delicate and they are for muscles.

Have you done any scar massage? I wouldn't use a massage gun but scar massage with oil can be really helpful.

Massage and Scarwork Therapist here... Do not use a massage gun on your c-section scar! As a pp said, it's a very delicate area and massage guns are not designed for this type of work. Have a google in your area and see if you can find a scarwork therapist near you, they will be able to help with the adhesions. The overhang may improve but unfortunately that is something that often remains to some extent.

Thanks all. Message received - no massage gun!

I'll have a google at some scar massage. I'm not great at touching it tbf so I'll build up to that.

@FannyGotobed how often do you think I'd need to work with a massage/scarwork therapist in your opinion? I'm now in the unpaid part of my maternity leave so not financially feasible at the minute but when I return, I'll definitely look at it.
