Especially when the original post is long. We’ve read it - we don’t want to scroll past it again 10 times.

What bugs me are posters who don’t read all posts by the OP (and thus miss additional clarifications/info) and ask questions that were answered already.

If you're quoting the OP, you're contributing to the problem, by making the thread so long nobody can be bothered reading all of it.

I agree with you, OP. It's especially irritating when it's a long OP and the reply underneath the quote is only a line or two. Just why?! All that unnecessary extra scrolling is building up to us all developing The Mumsnet Finger. Wink

Yes, it’s definitely annoying.

However, what I find more annoying is the fact that since The Big New Site Format just over a year ago, the OP’s original post is not collapsed from page 2 onwards. So, every new page has the OP’s post in full at the top of the page. Not so bad if it’s short and sweet, but an absolute PITA when it’s a detailed post.

I've been reading a thread where the replies have been quite long, and the OP has replied to most of them quoting each time. It's distracting.
