Asking what a "tasteful splash of colour" is for funeral attire?

Apologies if this is very obvious but this is the 3rd funeral I've been to and this has never been requested before.

I currently already own a black, funeral-appropriate dress but I'm not sure how to add a splash of colour. Any ideas on accessories that would be appropriate or would you change dress?

Thanks in advance

My Dad was a Liverpool supporter, so we all had to wear a splash of something red for his funeral. I just wore a red hairband.

I have long hair and I'd have a scrunchie in the splash colour around a neat bun. Cheapest option, if you don't have an accessory in the colour and have the right hair length. I'm sorry for your loss.

I went to a funeral recently where this was requested. I wore a black dress and a pair of bright shoes and matching bag, most people had done similar. Some men wore a dark suit but with a coloured shirt

Jay wear a normal outfit you'd wear this time of year and not the black dress. That's how I'd read it anyway.

I went to a funeral a year or so ago, where it requested that a 'splash of colour' be worn. I took this to mean a coloured scarf with a dark coloured suit and dressed accordingly. When I got to the church clearly I'd missed a different memo as nearly everyone else was wearing ordinary coloured clothes!
