I wear them a lot and the quality is very good, the Outlet shop on eBay is good for getting them a bit cheaper. I am quite old though.

Old enough to have seen Springsteen in the 80s, I'll add😁

I do a bit of Seasalt. I have the cropped cords for work and one of their plain linen dresses for wafting about lunching and shopping in. I have been approached by strangers three times and had that dress complimented.

They do make men's clothes. I don't really notice men's clothes in the same way and I think the men I know wear things like Blue Harbour and Fat Face.

I'd walked past the SeaSalt shop many times thinking it wasn't for me, but when I went in to buy something for my mother, I was impressed by the range, quality and inclusive sizes.

The clothes probably are aimed at women over 40 but women my mother's age (80-ish) still want to look nice, but generally need to consider comfort and practicality.

I've got some great fine knit cardigans from there via vinted. Mumsnet can be weird about brands and all sorts of things. Like Skechers. I've been wearing those since I was in my 20s and bought my first pair in New York. I'm 47 now. My 8 year old wears Skechers as does my 84 year old mum. They are comfortable trainers that are fit for purpose.

I thought it was from an Ad.
As for Seasalt, I only found it because I was looking, for many years, for a cotton dressing gown, and they had some. Unfortunately the quality of the most recent batch has led to the new one being taken to the charity shop for rags because they dye isn't set and it transfers to everything. They wouldn't take it back because it was a gift and I wasn't the original purchaser.

I also hate the waterproof coats because they are made of plastic and make me either sweaty or clammy and cold. Expensive waste of money.

I do wear their sandals but only because I am unable to find any that fit elsewhere. They stretch, a lot and pairs arrive that are made from different leather so you get one very soft one and one that is as stiff as board. It's a struggle to get anything decent from them now. So I stopped trying.

One more thing, if you buy online, they will keep sending you a catalogue but make it very difficult to cancel it.

I think you have just been unlucky.

I am also a woman of a certain age and so was not being derogatory; it is just that their stuff fits a certain demographic. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. Sometimes I am shocked that I am that age and I find myself liking flowery stuff that I wouldn’t have been seen dead in years ago 😅

I've never had a catalogue and I buy online as no shop is near me

A lot of their basics are very good

Just wish they were better employers!

😂 I keep seeing this. It makes it sound like a forbidden saucy romance… which is definitely not the seasalt vibe.

I was thinking more a shamefaced confession about something really awful and mildly criminal! I think it every time I see that 'promoted thread'.

(And it's nothing to do with what I personally think of Seasalt -- I have a nice plain moss-green jumper from there, and I think an old raincoat...)
