Recurring kidney stones

I’ve had stones on and off for years, I can go months or more without any (when I was breastfeeding for 3 years, I had none)
I’ve had them constantly since January, I can’t take any more of being in pain, being tired, feeling sick, cancelling meet ups, missing work.
I went to a specialist years ago who did a 24 hr urine test, it didn’t show anything specific, the nurse at the time couldn’t believe how little urine I produced in that time though (maybe half a 1.5 litre water bottle) I was told to drink more water.
I’ve been drinking two plus bottles of water per day and managing to flush them out (I think) until this week when it’s bad again and I’m in pain and lay down.
I’m 45 years old
Has anyone had similar, Is there no cure?
I can’t live the rest of my life like this

Have you heard of Sally Norton? Her low oxalate work has transformed lots of my clients who have kidney stones.

@LMNT Ive not, is it a diet?

I had a period of recurruring kidney stones. Turned out it was due to the Vitamin D & calcium supplement I was on. Since moving to ones with no added calcium, I've not had another stone

I'm a stone former - 3 attacks before I was 30; ended up in hospital twice - and another twice since. Have required lithotripsy twice, and a surgical intervention once too. I'm 46.
It's grim.
I changed my diet to remove/limit foods which are said to lead to stone forming. I was told to avoid soy, most legumes, and weirdly, tomatoes (although they're not on the oxalate list.)
I drink tonnes of water, but do have some reduced kidney function. They aren't sure if that's normal for me (as it wasn't tested before I had them), or due to scarring of the kidney.

It's awful. The worst pain I've ever been in (and I've had spinal surgeries, and a joint reconstruction). I was told to keep reporting to A&E if the attacks were such that I needed strong pain relief. They are usually ok with giving a bit of IV morphine, and another drug - meant for prostate problems, and I can't remember the name of - to ease things on.
Do you have a sympathetic consultant? Or are you willing to make a nuisance of yourself, until they offer better help?
You absolutely have my sympathies.

Is there any cure?

So sorry others go through similar, it’s sheer hell

I had an operation on my parathyroid gland as it was malfunctioning and not regulating the calcium in my blood. Hence the stones. Its only one cause but worth looking in to.
