To just assume the DJ has no dietary requirements?

I’m getting married soon and the venue need to sign off our event plan because they can send final invoices. The only thing left on it is the DJ’s dietary requirements. I email the beginning of June to ask and haven’t had a reply despite another follow up email.

I’m going to give it until the end of the week. But then do I:

1: Assume no dietary requirements, send an email to say as I haven’t heard back we’ve put you down as NDR, if there are dietary requirements let us know asap and we’ll see what we can do.

2: Play it safe and say nut and gluten free and vegetarian and just hope for the best 😅

3: Cancel their food because they haven’t got back to me maybe they don’t want feeding?

Assuming the contract you have with the DJ requires you to provide food, definitely 1. And you are being very generous- we didn’t even cater to dietary requirements for any of our evening food apart from vegetarian

I would be concerned if he isn’t available to contact at all . That would be a bigger concern

I wouldn't even expect to feed the DJ to be honest! However, as they haven't had the courtesy to reply, I wouldn't chase them again. I would assume no dietary requirements and if that doesn't suit them, then so be it.

Assume no dietary requirement if you've had no response. Those of us with medical dietary requirements are usually pretty quick to respond to that question, or plan to take care of ourselves anyway, because, "we didn’t even cater to dietary requirements for any of our evening food apart from vegetarian".

This would give me concerns as well!

Agree that it’s more of an issue if he isn’t responding at all to your contact.

But just on the food issue - it is fine to assume he has no requirements.

If it’s a contractual requirement to feed him, dietary needs should have been specified in the contract or at least mentioned at the time of engaging him. If it isn’t, you’re being generous to offer food and two contacts to check what he can eat is plenty.
