In hospital pissed off

In hospital since early hours Monday morning. I have a large ovarian cyst double the size it should be. Im waiting for a ultrasound scan since yesterday morning. I've been in absolute agony. I've had all bloods done, swabs etc one of the bloods is the CA125. No one has come round to let me know the results. Still waiting for a ultrasound and just keep being told it's done to ultrasound department.

But everyone who has come in after me has had their scans and gone home. The one that has really pissed me off. A doctor who everyone knows has come in with the same symptoms as me and only had one-two day of pain & her cyst is exactly half the size of mine but as she said on the phone to her friend it's "people she knows and who she works with" she has been able to by pass the ultrasound and has been took straight down first thing this morning for her cyst removal. She came in at 9 last night and having surgery now. I'm honestly so annoyed. No one has checked on me this morning had barely any conversation with the nurses. From 5:30am yesterday morning I was asking for pain relief the doctor said I will get it on drugs round, by 3pm I still hadn't had any pain relief despite asking 3 times and despite seeing them doing the rounds they kept saying nothing was on screen. I haven't complained once, not been horrible or off with them.

I just want to go home!

I echo the people saying make a huge complaint, especially about the doctor showing off she gets preferential treatment. Have you had your scan? Because they should not be discharging you until you have had what they kept you in for.
Cysts can be dodgy, they can twist and burst. You've been denied pain relief, even basics like a drink, they've failed to look after you at all.

I would tell them you want to speak to the lead consultant before you are discharged and explain what has happened.

I do agree with face doesn't fit though, with the NHS, have had it so many times myself and find those who shout and bitch get the best care and those of us who try and be polite get treated like a nuisance.

I work in the NHS although not a doctor. I don't get special treatment and don't expect it. She 100% has had special treatment and tbh it's really pissed me off.

I am with you @nhsteabags it would irritate me massively too. Sorry you are going through this, could you get someone to ask what is happening with your pain relief and treatment for you? like family who visit etc? or a friend?
I remember being stuck on a ward on holiday (in the UK) having collapsed with an ectopic. I spent the whole holiday trying to get my drip to work and trying to remember the last time they came to give me meds, I was brought in as an emergency but was there for 4 days before they operated. Think they dosed me up and hoped for the best until they had an operating slot. Wasn't a good holiday.
Sincerely hope that you are ok and this will all be like a bad dream in a week or so x

Hi @nhsteabags omg that's really bad, sorry you're going through this. You should defo submit a complaint about this.
Hope you get the care you need and get well quickly xx

Speak to the nurse looking after you. Say you are in agony but so fed up of waiting for your scan and pain relief that you are thinking of self discharging. This usually prompts the nurse to get in contact with your medics. Ask them to ring ultrasound to check your scan is actually booked - maybe the doctors have forgot to request it.

I'd try this or complaining.

Sadly IME this is sometimes what it takes - though there may be reasons at very least being told what they are can help feel you are not being ignored.
