To get this bed for my 3 year old?

My 3 year old has been asking for a bed with a slide. I know the high sleeper bunk beds are 6+ but can't seem to find any age recommendations for a bed like this.

Is it suitable for 3 year olds? It's 98.3cm high and my 3 year old is around 103-105cm for reference.

AIBU to consider buying this type of bed for a young child?

I'd have been fine with our child having that at 3, it looks hard to fall out of while sleeping.

My concern is that the novelty factor will be gone within a week and the slide will just take up space. Then within a year such a small slide will be of no interest to a 4 year old who will be more interested in seeing how far they can jump from the bed

DS has had a midsleeper a bit higher than that since 3 without issue, I actually think the written slats make it less likely them fall out than a regular single, no slide though. I think my DS would be climbing up and sliding down repeatedly rather than going to bed!

The slides take up a lot of space. We had a similar one and the slide has long since been removed.
Your Ds would be fine in it but don’t expect the novelty of the slide to last very long.
I presume you can remove it? If not I’d think again.

My child had one of those when they were small but if in the future they're going to start using it as a climbing frame or jumping off of it then I dont think you should

@Msplace My child is a very climby and jumpy child, not all are as wild as him.

Today he was up a ladder picking cherries because I gave in, as otherwise he was just going to try and climb it like a monkey (and would have got to the top).

I bought a Stompa bed, it's a bit higher but they can't fall out and has a play space underneath. I think the slide would be fun for a while though.
