Aibu to invite him over?

Recently had a new kitchen fitted, labour of love and very well supported by kitchen designer throughout.
He's requested a before and after for his portfolio as quite new to kitchen design I think.
I'm thinking it would be nice to invite him to come and see it in the flesh as it's a really lovely finished project and might be nice to see that.
But AIBU to do so?

YANBU= it's a nice thing
YABU= it's a bit weird

It's a bit of an open-ended gesture, isn't it? I mean, are you literally just saying 'Come over and you can take a photo for your portfolio', or are you saying 'Stay for dinner and let's be friends'?

LouLouC86 · 08/07/2023 22:00

I was thinking "do you want to come have a look at it in the flesh"

You or the kitchen? Perhaps both. Two birds, one stone (worktop)

LouLouC86 · 08/07/2023 22:03

Definitely not "come for dinner and be besties".

Just, do you want to come round and see what it looks like as a finished project. May put kettle on. Def won't be getting the three course pombear formal dining.

Oh man. Cross post.
None of my flesh. Just the kitchen.
I'm married and ten years (prob more Confused) older so I don't think that misunderstanding would occur.

I did enjoy the worktop pun though Grin

Don't rule it out! I project managed our endless, ridiculously complex renovation, and now our architect is one of my best friends!

I think she was implying more than being pals Blush

I have had a carpenter return to photograph the lovely job he did on our music room - beautiful pine beams and wood floor. I was glad to help; and wrote a nice review for the site.

LouLouC86 · 08/07/2023 22:41

Thanks. if it was me I'd be really pleased to see my creation come to
Life.
I guess because it's been done remotely I'm questioning it its an ok thing professionally wise. It's less straightforward than "pop back whenever to take some pics" to someone who's already on site.

Ask him if he wants to? It take them yourself if he doesn't?

LouLouC86 · 09/07/2023 09:30

Ok, just wanted to check it wasn't a weird thing to do before doing it 😅

I'd take the photos and email them and say that he'd be welcome to come and look at it himself if that would be helpful and take any pictures he might want.

Don't say 'see it in the flesh' though!!Shock

LouLouC86 · 09/07/2023 19:44

Lol ok, no flesh, got it.

Yes of course allow him to come and photograph the finished project. You could offer him a coffee but he just wants a record for his professional portfolio, nothing wrong with that.

My friends' architect-designed home was visited by the architect and his students on occasion over many years as a sort of case study.
