To find reality television music competition programs absolutely tedious?

X factor, The voice. The masked singer etc.

My partner loves them but they bore me to death.

I got out of the bath this evening to The Voice loudly blaring out from the tv. Its not what you want after a relaxing bath is it?

I don't see the appeal at all. I also find it particularly annoying how the judges all smile and nod at one another as if they're going to press the button but then don't.

Am I a miserable bastard or does anybody else feel this way about that kind of television?

I don’t mind ones like X factor, American Idol etc. A few artists I like have been on shows like that, mainly American versions, famous now but didn’t necessarily win or got rejected early on.

The masked singer, I find that really weird but so many people love it. Naked attraction is just wrong. 😬 I don’t like Love Island, my teens think it’s rubbish as well. I’ve never seen more that a few clips of bake off, strictly etc, definitely not my thing.

I’ve hated them since their inception and never watched them <preens>

Yanbu. Tv "talent" shows were fun for the first couple of years but I find it baffling that people keep watching them 20 years later. Strictly, Pop Idol, X Factor, The Voice, BGT and the Jungle thing. Its just garbage which is relatively cheap to make with the added bonus (to TV execs) that they can create even cheaper to make "extra" shows discussing them to fill up the schedules. We stopped watching live TV (and paying licence) years ago. Don't miss it.
