To go out if DC has stomach flu

One of my children has stomach flu. She’s been vomiting and is more droopy than normal but the doctor said she should be fine within a few days. Quite unfortunately, that coincided with the visit of an old uni friend who’s in town for one night only. We’ve had drinks booked for over 2 months. My partner is happy to stay home and look after the children. I will be around 30 mins away from home. AIBU not to cancel on my friend?

Yeah my niece visited recently- her and her child had both had a stomach bug but were now fine- her DP however was feeling a bit dodgy but came anyway. He went down with it later that day followed by my DD a few days later ( who had spent more time with them than DH and I) 2 months later she is still suffering- she has IBS and Fibro and it really buggered up her system.

No problem leaving your child with DP though- he is also her parent and should be perfectly capable of looking after his own child.

Perhaps you aren't infectious but I would still mention it to your friend so she at least has the choice.
