Hi
just a quick few questions really , if never drove a automatic do you think would need lessons or not?
I have a manual licence sold my manual car a couple of years ago been walking everywhere but now need to get a car and thinking automatic sounds great less stress etc
just wondering if I buy one would I be able to get used to it myself without lessons etc
also anyone bought from cazoo is it good? I’m ideally looking for a Ford Focus automatic titanium budget 13k max hoping to get it cheaper though , no local dealers have anything suitable and I have no transport to get future out so looking at buying online and they deliver and hope it’s ok . Thanks all

We bought an automatic hybrid this year, and it's so easy. Just take some time to drive it somewhere quiet first if you can. The first 1/2 times I drove I kept going to do gears but that stopped fast.

A few refresher lessons is probably a good idea. A few years is a long time so better to be safe than sorry

I agree tbh but I’ve looked and no one offers auto lessons in my area , so unsure how to go about it tbh

If you can drive a manual you can drive an automatic. You just forget that you have a left leg and arm. If you feel like a refresher lesson may help then go for it, but as someone who takes my car out maybe every six months at most, driving isn’t something you forget how to do that easily. It may feel a little odd at first in an auto but you soon get used to it.

I think Cazoo overprices, having looked at their sales, but you pay for the ease. If you can afford to pay for convenience, do so.

Hmm ok I’ll definitely look into cazoo more , does anyone recommend any other online car places who deliver as I’m quite rural so delivery is a must thank you

Whenever we've been to America it's always been automatics. I used to tuck my left leg back when first driving it so I didn't get tempted to try and use a non-existing clutch Grin

Didn't want to make the mistake of hitting the brakes.

Seriously, though. It doesn't take long to get used to driving an automatic.

I have always driven manual cars, and bought an automatic last year. Within 15 minutes of driving my new car I was completely used to it - it is SO easy. You really do not need lessons, I read this beforehand and it told me all I needed to know.

I bought my car from an AA approved garage about 80 miles away, I requested delivery and they were happy to do this, obviously they charged a bit extra for this service. I think a lot of dealers do this now to compete with the likes of Cazoo.

If anything I would say lessons were needed if you switched the other way from an automatic to a manual. Take it around the block a couple of times when the traffic is quiet (say 4am) and you will be fine I am sure.

I have never used Cazoo so no idea about them.
