Posting here for traffic, hope that’s OK

My husband is away and I’m bored! I love reading stories or listening to podcasts about unexplained or supernatural phenomena. I’ve no idea if I actually believe that ghosts exist but I find stories about this sort of thing utterly compelling.

I’ve had a few different experiences, I’ve never actually seen a ghost (think I’d shit myself tbh!), but I would consider myself a pretty intuitive person- I often pick up on atmospheres or that certain places have a negative energy.

I’ve lived in one particular flat which I’m convinced had something terrible happen there. It had a really strange negative energy.

I’ve had a few prophetic dreams, one that predicted the separation of my aunt and her husband who I hadn’t seem for ages and had no idea were having issues in their marriage. Then another dream more recently where I was having a conversation with someone and I said “did you know x had a stroke and died”. This poor person actually did have a stroke 2 days later and died in hospital later that week. she had been ill but her death was sudden and unexpected.

My middle son has always been very sensitive and empathetic. He seems to know things beyond his years. As a baby/toddler he never slept, he would wake for hours in the night and just stare. I often wondered if he could see something I couldn’t. He once said that he chose me to be his mamma. He also said ‘this isn’t my first life you know’!

There’s lots I’ve forgotten, I’ll share more as it comes to me…..

My daughter is 4 and talks about when she was Jane's mummy and they lived by a hill before she zoomed down into being my baby.

When I was about three I saw a ghost, and it spoke to me. I told my mum in a very matter of fact way that I’d seen this person, what they were wearing and what they’d said to me - as far as I was concerned it was just this random person that had appeared in my house. Obviously at the time I had no concept of ghosts or knowledge of what people wore in the ‘olden days’ which is what I’d described. My parents then found out that our house was reputedly haunted by someone wearing what I’d described who’d died in an accident many years before.

we are not a ‘woo’ family and I don’t really believe in ghosts but I believe there is something we don’t yet understand about time or electromagnetic energy

I’d love some more podcast recommendations if anyone knows of anything similar to Uncanny. I’ve listened to things like Real Life Ghost Stories but I like it when they research the story to see if they can find explanations for the events like the past inhabitants of a property or other people who have had similar experiences.

I can recommend Real Life Ghost Stories podcast with Emma. My story was on there last year. It's a mix of viewer stories and famous stories and is really entertaining.

Ooh, I’ve listened to lots of RLG, which was your story?

When my sister was about 3-4 she insisted that there was a 'green man' in our home. She would frequently point to a space and tell us where he was. She described his green clothes and that he was often just observing us. By the time she was 5, she had stopped seeing him.

I was once on a women’s retreat with a woman who shared her story about her son. He was about 8 at the time, but when he began to speak (so about 2?) she’d travelled to Vietnam and taken him with her. She said he’d looked at a newspaper with the Vietnamese script and said “daddy”. There were no pictures of men on the page, and anyway she was a single mum. Turned out one of the words in the headline was “father”. And later, when he was about 5 or 6 he told her he’d been here before, but used to have to work very, very hard gathering food from a field but one day he’d heard helicopters and had run very fast to get back to his babies, but they all died. He didn’t remember it as an 8 year old, though.

Bumping - reincarnation and rl ghost stories fascinate me, but no interesting personal experiences.
