Wondering if any year 6 mums past or present did anything on the last day of school to mark it? School are holding a leavers ceremony which parents are invited to but afterwards I'm wondering if I should invite some of ds friends over? Or maybe see if the whole class (parents willing of course) wanted to arrange some sort of party? Does this sound too much? It feels like a big occasion!!

We had go ape trip, signature books, year books, leavers fest, a damn musical show, hoodies, leavers assembly.

I did gift them pencil cases, stationery and house keys/keyrings for high school on their last days

They'll be so tired on the actual day, it's been weeks of last-everything. Let them cry saying goodbye, then stick a movie on that night.

I won't even be there to collect or take to any party as I will be at work

Year 6 no nothing as no one leaves in the 3 tier system but year 8 transition to high school yes its a big deal.

As well as all the school organised stuff, on the last day of term the informal tradition here is for everyone to head to the beach for a picnic. I guess not everyone goes but certainly a large proportion of the families.

School didn't arrange a party, so the parents arranged a little get together. We were allowed to borrow the school field, charged the kids a fiver, got a load of pizza / crisps / drinks etc. Chucked on some music, played rounders and let the kids have a muck about - they had a fab time.
