(within reason)

I want a cleaner
I want my weekly food shop from M&S
I want a good selection of gins to choose from anytime I like at home
I want a new car (second hand, but new to me), specifically a Range Rover
I want to be able to have my nails done whenever I need/fancy it

yes this is a materialistic post ! Certain things in my life right now have prompted this.

My horse once smashed the rear passenger window of a car by leaping sideways into it as it passed - over 20 years ago. Obviously I offered to pay the owner’s excess on a new window, but the cheeky fucker pretended she’d had to have the car fully valeted and gave me a £175 “bill” that was obviously fabricated. 20 years ago! I refused to pay, and horses are considered by car insurers to be “Acts of God”, so the silly cow got nothing for her lies.

Getting bits of glass out of carpet does need a lot of effort - so I don't think they're being unreasonable.
And we wonder why people don't like horses on the road...

I want a housekeeper. I'm not bothered about a cleaner, I can do that, I just want someone to do laundry/dishwasher/tidying.

My cleaner does that ..?

My cleaner does that ..?

The companies I've looked into in my area either have a separate cleaning/housekeeping service or they charge a premium for 'extras' including laundry etc.

JMSA · 29/06/2023 12:52

YANBU.
A cleaner is only the tip of the iceberg though. I need an actual laundry person.

MavisMcMinty · 29/06/2023 12:57

I’d like staff. A cook, a cleaner and a gardener. I’ll continue to do all the walking of my cats and dogs though.

getafringenotbotox · 29/06/2023 13:54

I would like a full time chauffeur so I never have to drive again. I absolutely hate it. Couldn't give a shiny shit what car I am being driven around in.

And a cleaner obviously for my new 4 bed detached with massive garden and swimming pool.

What I would really like if I could dream it up is enough money to be able to support young adult DC who really struggle to make ends meet private renting.

BonnieGlasses · 29/06/2023 12:01

So what's stopping you?
I used to do most of my food shopping in M&S, those were the days!

What's your reason for not doing all your shopping at M&S now then? Can you imagine that potentially your reason might be similar to OP's?

BuddhaAtSea · 29/06/2023 14:55

I want
A massage once a month
Mani, pedi and haircut every 6 weeks
A really comfortable bench
A good day to day town bike with panniers and basket
A cleaner

entangledconker · 29/06/2023 14:56

Oh I want that too!

Plus a beautiful cottage or barn conversion with a stable door and a she-shed in the garden for crafting and putting twinkly lights on.

I'd settle for the She-shed

JulieHoney · 29/06/2023 15:03

I want a cleaner, and one that tidies as she does so. That’s my dream.

I have plenty of time to clean and tidy but I absolutely loathe doing it. It’s the absolute worst task.

I want a really comfortable sofa, not the piece of crap we were talked into getting 4 years ago which looked like shite within 18 months.

I want enough disposable income for two weekends away and a fortnight’s holiday a year.

I want the new kitchen we were going to get until DH was made redundant.

I feel you - I totally hate hate hate going to the supermarket. We get weekly deliveries but other issues still mean I have to go to the supermarket for top-ups etc I go into the shop knowing exactly what I am getting - never ever a full weeks shop. There are so many people dithering in the shop over what to buy, they are on go-slow, stopping in front of people, not moving out the way to let people past, often not being aware of their own surroundings i.e. I am standing behind you in the shop and you don't have a clue as you step backwards into me, FFS

I want a two bedroom house with garden.
I want a dishwasher.
I want a holiday.
I want savings.

DamnUserName21 · 29/06/2023 15:07

I also want an Aperol Spritz, which is probably the only thing doable right now if I want to spend a tenner!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 29/06/2023 15:10

A waistline would do me tbf

SpudleyLass · 29/06/2023 15:11

I want a SEN school place for my daughter and/or provision for therapists to come to us.

My next plan of attack is to wait for the LA to name a mainstream school on her EHCP - though its specifies ''specialist'' under school type - and then launch an appeal to raze the whole thing to the ground and start again. MInimum 1 year before anything productive happens.

I'm exhausted.

So after all that - or in the meantime - a solo hotel stay afor a couple nights would be nice

FridaRose · 29/06/2023 19:54

@takealettermsjones usually the cleaner charges by the hour.

I send to-do list in addition to the usual clean and she invoices me depending on how many hours she spent there: sometimes 4, sometimes 8.

She's paid by the hour so doesn't mind anything related to chores or household tasks: getting firewood from the garage, dropping laundry off to the laundromat, clearing cobwebs on the outside of the house, etc..

I found mine via Facebook recommendation.

Pigstrotter · 29/06/2023 20:04

I don’t want any of that, I just want new experiences every day.

Brightbear · 29/06/2023 20:10

I want a really old land rover, that never lets me down!

justjuggling · 29/06/2023 22:24

I have found my people!

I want:

a cleaner
a gardener
a personal chef
a PT to make me do exercise

I’d also like:

a new car - not fussy about the make but need an automatic as I have a back/shoulder problem which is exacerbated by gear changing whilst driving

and a weekly back, neck and shoulder massage to help with the above

a holiday

And finally, great a-level results for DD1 as she worked so hard and really deserves them.

Sigmama · 29/06/2023 12:10

They are all reasonable aspirations list except for the range rover

This 👆

Only get a Range Rover if you like spending time and money at the repair garage.

OutsidInInsideOut · 29/06/2023 22:34

I want a cleaner
Sleep
More sleep

InAndOutOfTheRedBalloon · 29/06/2023 22:40

I want my family not to have imploded three weeks ago.

A gardener, a cleaner, a housekeeper to deal with meals / laundry and put it all in front of me.

A PT to help me lose the 5st that's appeared from nowhere.

My DC#1 not to be hounding me on social media.

Knackeredmommy · 29/06/2023 22:46

I want a PA!
