How long until breast milk dries up?

Sorry for posting in AIBU, I wasn’t sure where else to post.

How long roughly until breast milk stops being produced/dries up once you finish breastfeeding? I know it’ll vary.

Just I stopped breastfeeding my daughter in March (when she was 3.5yrs old) and I’m STILL producing milk. It’s not painful, leaking or anything and I’m not pumping. Just when I squeeze my nipple, like once a fortnight (random!) milk still flows. I honestly thought it would have dried up already? Is there something wrong with me?!

I stopped breastfeeding 6 years ago but still have droplets if I squeeze. Not enough to feed obviously but still freaks me out that I don't understand why they can do that?!!!

Nothing wrong with you, quite a few women who natural term breastfeed find they can still express some milk several years after weaning

My girl us still feeding at 4 years old together with her baby brother, my mother in laws youngest fed for 5 years and she could still express small amounts 6 years later

My DD's took over six months. Yours is still well within the boundaries of normal.

I still had milk for several years. I don’t know how much I would have gotten if I had tried to express or tried to breastfeed, but if I gave a squeeze, I would get a drop immediately.

You're fine. It's normal to still produce milk afterwards.

Ok, thank you for the reassurance! I didn’t realise it took so long! I fed the older three children and my milk dried within a few weeks, so I was just concerned! Grateful for the reassurance, thank you!

I stopped around 20 months, a year later a tiny bit might still come out if I squeeze my nipple
