I know it isn’t forever, but I am feeling a bit rotten. Have a 2.5 yo and just can’t do much, he normally goes to a group Thursday mornings but I’m just not sure I’m up to it. But then staying in all day won’t be much fun either … Bit worried about us being cooped up all summer as well. Please reassure me Mr Tumble won’t permanently harm him!

Remember that a tired, burn out mum won't be much fun at a playgroup anyway. Stay home and try to put your feet up while he watches tv/plays/naps. There's always tomorrow or next week (or month) to take him out once you're a bit more motivated to do so, which will make the time more enjoyable and meaningful for you both.

If you can, it might be worth organising a play date at your house so you don't have to make the effort to go out but your DC can still socialise. I'm

Of course Mr tumble winter harm him ! I had 22 months between my younger 2 and some days when heavily pregnant I couldn't be bothered going out . It wasn't in the heat either which must make it worse! Do you have a garden he can play in?

Do you have a garden? Or a friend with a child similar in age who could come round for a play?

Oh, and sympathies!
