To think my numb toe isn’t anything to worry about

About 2 years ago, I broke one of my toes- right foot, 4th toe along. It took a while to heal & looked a bit weird.

I’ve just been to Glastonbury & I walked 70 miles over 4 days in boots similar to docs. I was there last year too but in different shoes.

My toe is really numb - feels weird- my shoes were comfy but obviously I did do a lot of walking!

Aibu to think it’s likely related to shoes/ walking etc & long term damage from my broken toe .& not anything sinister? I didn’t have it last week.

My friend has MS and her first symptom was a numb toe!

My concern with numbness in the feet would be diabetes personally.

@cinnamonfrenchtoast its definitely not that as I had a health check at docs a few weeks ago and bloods all fine- just by coincidence

It sounds to me like you've probably got a bit of swelling (from the unaccustomed walking and boots), and the swelling combined with the extra bone callus that likely still is around the old broken toe is pressing on the digital nerve to that toe and giving you numbness.

This is much, much more likely than anything sinister, and if you go to the GP (presuming no other symptoms) they will likely tell you to wait a month and come back if it is still numb.

If you were worried, you could get a private physio consultation for reassurance and they will do an initial screening for any neurological problem much more thoroughly than a GP has time to do.
