Morning,

Posting on AIBU for traffic.

Woke up this morning to a tiny amount of pink spotting. Been anxious ever since. No other symptoms but I have over done it the past few days and constantly been on my feet and really exhausted myself 🙁.

Any advice/help is appreciated x TIA

Hi,

Go and get checked out, of course.

I had pink spotting in my successful pregnancy from 5-28 weeks on and off. Terrifying but a harmless cervical ectropion.

You need to get it checked so ring your midwife unit or speak to your own midwife. Some posters will say they had bleeding at a similar time and everything was fine, others will have experienced the opposite. The only way to stop feeling anxious is to get get some advice from a professional.

I'd contact your midwife/hospital to see if they recommend you go in (which I'm sure they will as it's normally best to check). But, I don't think what you've pictured looks concerning. I had spotting in my second trimester with my first baby but the pregnancy was unaffected. I had bright red bleeding during the first trimester and further spotting with my newborns pregancy but again baby was ok. I had a low-lying placenta with both pregancies so that was most likely the cause in my case.

Good luck and, I know easier said than done, but try not to worry! Go and get checked for the reassurance though 😊

Thanks all. I've contacted the EPU and I'm awaiting a call back from the sister in charge. It's been over 1.5 hours! The wait is killing me 😳

So I've been told to go in tomorrow at 2pm for a scan. Just a bit annoyed as to how they can just expect someone to wait over 24 hours and be anxious the whole time due to not knowing? Could it be because I'm not experiencing any pain and it was just the one off shown in the picture?

In my unit it’s sometimes necessary to wait days for a scan appointment, we of course understand how anxious people can be but there are only so many epas appointments available each week. Any bleeding needs to be investigated and it’s especially important if you are rhesus negative blood type, we have so many calls that we often need to refer to other units or send to maternity triage if we are unable to accommodate them

I know it's really frustrating and you must be very anxious (been through this myself - with a happy ending!)
Our EPU doesn't even see you that early on, and a next day scan is pretty good when it's not an emergency. Pink spotting is very common, it's definitely the right thing to do to get checked out but hopefully everything should be just fine.

Thank you to the previous posters for explaining how it works as I'm new to all of this.

I'm grateful for the scan but just really anxious. Just hope that baby is fine 🤞🏻

How did this turn out for you?

@FirsttimerMA hello, this is my old thread. My 14 week old baby is sat in front of me 😌. Hopefully it works out for you if you're in a similar situation x

I had bleeding for a few weeks in early pregnancy with my second. It was terrifying. But all fine with baby, I had a scan and they found a build up of blood like a bruise. Said it was nothing to worry about and it eventually stopped. Healthy, happy 2 year old now. Try not to worry. Sending love.
