I am 41, married with two DC. My DH works away in the week and I am usually taking the DC to various activities most evenings, plus I work FT.

I just want something that's for me, that I can do at home, that I will find some enjoyment from. I love my DH and DC but I just feel like I spend my time doing everything for everyone else, keeping on top of the house/washing/cooking/shopping and if I am honest I am a bit bored! I already exercise most mornings so I am looking for something I can sit and do.
I love reading but only get about 1/4 down the page before I fall asleep.

Any ideas welcome!

You mean just flopping down exhausted in front of Netflix every night isn't enough for you?

Thank you! Some great suggestions there, I ended up watching a felting tutorial and even that was therapeutic so I am going to order myself a starter pack and get stabbing 😉

Haha this is what usually happens...plus the mindless bloody scrolling on my phone!

I started learning Spanish in lockdown. First with a free app and then with a Babbel subscription which includes online group lessons. I think Babbel is about £44/month but they often have deals on. I've got pretty good! We went to Spain earlier this year and it was genuinely super helpful.

I like that I can do 5 minutes and just repeat or review something or spend an hour or more really digging into it and studying.

I would love to learn a language (maybe build on my very basic French skills I learnt for GCSE) I just don't have the mental capacity for it currently!

Lock picking

Learning a language. I've been doing Duolingo but also started face to face classes too. The place I'm doing it also has online classes (international house in London). It's early days, but I'm definitely improving (although my baseline was no knowledge at all 😂). Duolingo is gamified and you can do 5/10 minutes a day so doesn't really take as much brain power as traditional lessons.

Thank you, I will look in to that as well.

I've been really enjoying cross stitch lately. I find it very relaxing and therapeutic. I'm also a fan of colouring books. Great options if you want something a bit creative but lack significant skill.

Another vote too for duolingo. I'm completely addicted to it!

I really enjoy Lego. Some of the big creator kits are really absorbing and it’s super satisfying to put together. Also if you’re careful you can sell them on once you’re done. I sometimes wait until they’ve been discontinued then put them on, as they can fetch a bit more then.

My daughter and I are making the Madrigal house at the moment.

You've reminded me that I love Lego! I always end up finishing the DC's sets.

Look up needle felting on YouTube. There are lots of groups on Facebook. You can make the most amazing things.

I did not mean to do a laughing face...I wanted to do a shocked one. It looks incredible

At the age of 42 I bought my first DSLR camera. I loved going for walks taking photos of wildlife etc. I am now in my 10th year of my photography business. Completely self taught and very very busy with families and weddings. Of course you don’t need to go into business but it’s a fantastic hobby and it will get you out looking for cool things to photograph!!

Domestika is a great site for learning a new hobby. I've signed up to quite a few over the years. Haven't always completed them but I can go back to them any time.

My DH and kids are addicted to DuoLingo and get very competitive with it. They're all doing a different language.

Lots of online clubs eg art, pottery, singing etc. Try virtual Village Hall or your local fe college.
