God it is baked beans, not known to kil anyone recently!

Psychomum5 · 23/02/2008 00:37

thankyou....I try.

I agree with expat to a degree......salt and sugar don't help, but it is society as a whole that adds to the rising obesity probs, and then the government!!!!

we mums are quite willing (well, the MN mums seem to be) to feed our DC's decent food in moderation so we all get a good degree of each food group, yet we still have issues with allowing them out to play in the way we all used to. AND WHY IS THAT????

ofr me, it is because the way the traffic laws now exhist, anf then the ways that paedophiles are dealt with, or more to the point, NOT dealt with.
we mums are too scared to let out kiddies out as we know that should something happen (and I agree, it IS a rare possibility), the police and courts hands are tied that much, nothing will be done, and then they a free to prey on more kiddies....maybe ours!!!

BUT.....I digress, and that is another rant for another day

for now....I feed my kiddies good food 99% of the time, so the odd crap easy meal will make no difference!

expatinscotland · 23/02/2008 00:39

it is pyscho, i'll agree with you there.

Psychomum5 · 23/02/2008 00:39

besides all that.......chips and beans are one of my comfort foods, so who am I to tell my kiddies that they can't share!!!

Psychomum5 · 23/02/2008 00:41

expat....thanks for agreeing....altho, like I say....another rant, another day....or maybe for the need to!

no way AYBU! what is wrong with putting beans in a bowl and then microwaving them? that is what people have done for years. god knows why everyone thinks we need plastic containers for everything nowadays.

hecate · 23/02/2008 09:01

I hate beans. The smell and texture make me vomit!

However, I have to say that it is a pretty sad day when the ring pull tin is not convenient enough and we have to have something we can put directly in the microwave.

So pulling the lid off a can and putting the contents on the hob or in a bowl in the microwave is too difficult and time consuming?

Not only do we not have to cook the beans in any real way, but we don't even have to use a can opener any more - but that is not quick and easy enough?

What next? Prechewed and partially digested food that you drink or shove up your arse?

moodymammy · 23/02/2008 10:51

why not get rid of the need to use a bowl? less washing up! well less to put in the dishwasher anyway

moodymammy · 23/02/2008 16:39

ooh and they do spaghetti hoops in plastic tubs too!blimey i must be bored

hecate · 23/02/2008 16:58

It's the end of civilisation as we know it, Moodymammy. I'm telling you. One day you'll look back and say, Hecate Knew.

wheresthehamster · 23/02/2008 17:04

I haven't seen them luckily. I would have a dilemma because I don't like microwaving plastic. I always think that plastic is poisonous and by heating it, it is transferring toxins to food. (Completely irrational I know and based on nothing scientific).

I just looked at the Heinz web site and never realised that on the can they spell beans 'beanz'. You learn something new every day.

nappyaddict · 23/02/2008 17:58

oh well i was under the impression you would heat them up in the plastic then put them in a bowl/on a plate to eat but i suppose if you eat them out of the container you are saving on washing up.

Ambi · 23/02/2008 18:19

I mentioned to DH at how lazy it was not to pour beans in a bowl and microwave them! It ain't difficult! I thought they were just aimed at students?
