Hi looking some advice

I gad a high fit test over 400 went for colonoscopy and was told I had three grade 2 internal piles and was told to take Fybrogel and suppositories this was a month ago

Anyway I have completely changed my diet took the 7 day course of suppositories and Fybrogel drinks. The blood cleared up no pain...I used to go to the toilet every three days now I go every day sometimes twice.
I stopped taking the Fybrogel 2 weeks ago all has been fine keeping up my high fibre diet and lots of water. Then two nights ago I felt like I had to go to the toilet and only a hard pebble came out. Didn't think much of it then yesterday blood and lots of it and the same again today. I thought I'd treated the piles could this be them back or should I go back to the doctor. Can I take Fybrogel every day indefinitely back to panicking again it's something g more serious

So sorry you are going through this, please go back to the doctor, that is what they are there for. I know it’s scary but the unknowing is even worse. They might be able to put your mind at ease, but at the very least they can give you much better advice than you’ll receive on here. Good luck.

My dad had a colonoscopy in April, so I do understand the worry and the waiting. Well done for booking the phone call, just be as honest as possible and be very clear that you really need support as it’s not normal to be living like this. Even if that support is another prescription, you still need some solid advice and mechanisms for dealing with the situation at hand. I really do wish you all the best, I can’t imagine it’s easy at all for you. Wishing you good health.

Hope your dad is ok! I waited two years for the colonoscopy and still it's not sorted. I don't want to live with piles I got private health care after the colonoscopy so I hope when my benefits kick in I can even be refered to get them properly treated through that

Thank you, that’s really kind. Results pending! He’s had some pre-cancer issues for a while. But also had some surgery and we’re hopeful.

Definitely keep pushing for support, it’s not OK to be in your situation and you deserve a diagnosis and the care to go alongside that. Sending you all the good vibes that I have!

If you have private health care, ask your gp to refer you to a private colorectal surgeon. Then you will be examined and treated properly I did this and had 2 internal piles and 2 external piles cut our surgically. It was very painful but the only option for me and I've been fine ever since. With regards stool softening, I believe you can take a low dose of products like movicol indefinitely but ask your gp.

I just thought that the high fibre diet softer stools would keep them at bay would that have been similar for you.

thwy don't cause me discomfort it's the bleeding I hate and makes me very anxious
