At what age do kids stop talking and start grunting?

Cos I'm on count down.

I love my child. I do. But I picked him up at 12, we got hoek at 5.30 and o swear he's barely stopped talking at me all that time. Primarily just about one game on my phone (as in "who's your favourite... , imagine if they were real and...., how many times bigger do you think x would be in real life....., when they made the game they did....." so not actually playing on it apart from a short period. He stopped talking for two medical tests. He talked to the Dr and a semi-stranger at the bus stop but obv I was in those conversations. My brain rarely shuts up as it is so it's been running it's own dialogue on top of DS's constant stream of consciousness.

AIBU to be on countdown for teenage grunts? He's just turned 8.

12 for my ds - he mumbles everything and doesn't seem to move his jaw anymore, unless eating. I thought I was losing my hearing at first.

Mines the same age and also doing that, his older brother has just got back from uni for the summer and all I can hear is mumbling from one and for the love of God will you please stop mumbling and use your words! From the other 🙄
