To not move my meeting room?

Am I being too sensitive? In the last 3 week I’ve been asked four times to change my meeting rooms because someone else wants it.

I just book a room that’s free and I’ve never asked anyone else to move for me. Fed up of it now.

Depends … if you have booked a room that seats say 10, and there will just be 2 of you, I don’t see why it’s a problem to enquire if you would mind moving to a smaller room (should one be available)

Are you booking rooms too big for your needs?

If not, just say no.

Sirzy · 21/06/2023 17:31

Surely it depends why they are asking.

it could be to do with accessibility or the size of the room.

hopeishere · 21/06/2023 18:08

Are some of the rooms more private than others for sensitive conversations?

ConfusedGin · 21/06/2023 18:25

Is it unreasonable to ask? No. Is it unreasonable to say no if there are valid reasons why you can't move? Also, no.

And I say this as someone who almost had to ask a group of colleagues to move the time or location of their internal catch up today, so that I could have the room to present to external suppliers. I have also taken video calls on the balcony as there were no rooms and only me dialling in.

I've had the same issue. I book in advance (the right size room!) because they book up fast, then on the day someone will ask if they can use it or will just be sat in there without asking and then complain about having to move.
