I've got CCTV. A few years ago I caught a neighbour (fucking old man weirdo) walking up my drive snooping around, looking behind the bins etc.

I left it, but have kept the footage and forgotten about it. Anyway, today he did it again but walked off with one of my recycling bins 😂

Obvs first world problems but I was showing my daughter and saying what a oddball he is. She said I should print off both instances and post it through his letterbox telling him to "fuck off our property you freak". The cantankerous in me says yes. My adult parent in me says no.

But WIBU to do something like this?

Or post it up on the local Facebook page?

For the record, I'm an old fucker too and my daughter is an adult. It's been a long time since I was in a position to sensor their language.

Your own language and attitude suggests that you probably never have.
Ageist, disablist.
I pity all of your neighbours.

Good god just knock on and say you've took my recycling bin, I saw it on the cctv. I'll take it back now, thanks.

Then go from there.

And if his is missing/stolen then give him the one you've ordered or let him keep yours and put stickers on the one you end up with so this can't happen again.

Put a note through his door saying

"I have a photo of you stealing a blue bin from Number 14 on Wednesday. Put it back TODAY or I show it to the owner and the police."

I wouldn't but I would go round and ask for your bin back and if he denies it, tell him he's on CCTV

This

Good idea. And if you write it in green ink or a market pen, in capital letters, it’ll be twice as effective.

Good idea. Then he'll have written evidence to show the police when he calls them about his vile neighbour and her daughter and their harassment.

And the whole street will cheer I imagine.

What action have you decided to take them?
Potentially horrifically bullying an elderly man with a medical condition or have you decided to be grown up about it and talk to him? Or leave it be?
