Bring notes into an interview?

Posted on here for traffic as interview is this morning.

I always find during an interview environment my mind goes blank and I have literally no capacity to bring myself back to the question as I forget everything I’ve said along with their question!

Is it acceptable to bring notes into an interview?

Obviously I’d ask first before bringing them in but just wanted the general consensus.

Thanks in advance :)

Ok I think you've hit the nail on the head with the feedback.

As far as I'm aware all government jobs are marked on a point system against how you demonstrate that you meet the person spec. Therefore if they give you the chance to just tell them that is your main opportunity!

You should be fine next time :)

I always take notes in with me. Notes on the company, the management structure, key points I might want to raise, and a list of questions I want to ask.

If I'm interviewing, and someone brings notes, so long as they are focussed on the interview rather than the notes, I find it a positive. Makes me think they've prepared.

I have a black interview notebook where I have written out competency based examples. So when they say tell us about a time when you had to deal with a difficult situation, what did you do - using STAR technique, I have bullet points written out should my mind go blank and I can refer to them
