To go home

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and have generally been fine (had some evening morning sickness in first trimester, but little since 15 weeks). Over the weekend I've been feeling really unwell, physically sore all over and very lethargic. This morning at work, I was suddenly overcome with nausea whilst sitting at my desk and I'm currently lying on the floor of the disabled toilet as it's the only thing that makes the nausea and faintness go away. I've only ever called in sick twice in nearly four years (bereavement and suspected miscarriage early in this pregnancy).

My AIBU is firstly should I go home, and secondly is this to be expected at this point in pregnancy or should I be contacting my doctor? Midwife is shocking (still haven't met her and she doesn't answer her phone) so not sure who to ask for advice.

Thank you so much everyone. I called my boss and got myself into a taxi home. My midwife had her phone off as usual and I couldn't get through to the duty midwife, so I rang the maternity unit and they've asked me to come in for an assessment. My friend is off and she's going to drive me up there. I feel better but still very hot and woozy, but I can sit up now at least. Drinking water seems to make me feel worse but I'm going to carry on sipping water and will take some salty crisps to the unit with me as there's a good few hours to wait according to the triage staff.
Thank you all for your advice, I felt so dramatic lying on the floor but I literally couldn't do anything else. It's horrible feeling so weak and not knowing why!

It's a long time ago now, but I remember feeling the same when I was about 20 weeks pg with my twins. My obstetrician said it was from the increase in blood volume. Hope you get seen soon.

Could it be gestational diabetes? It would explain the extreme dizziness?

The heat is probably not helping either

Hi all, thanks for the responses. Turns out I had a UTI and really low BP. On antibiotics and my GP is monitoring my BP this week as they're concerned it's still so low now I'm.deep into second trimester.

What is your BP?
As I said during my pregnancies I had low BP - between 50-60 over 80-95
Nothing was wrong just what my body did and my midwife told me to eat more salt which is the opposite of what they usually say in pregnancy. Obviously investigate with the GP but it doesn't necessarily mean anything is qrong and I had 2 normal births 🙂

Glad they found a potential cause, hope that you're having a good rest, infections can kick your arse when your pregnant.
