To think this is possibly just something we have to wait out (early waking)

DS (2 and a half) sleeps really well at night but wakes up so early. The clocks going forward in March brought it to a slightly more civilised 630ish but slowly got earlier and earlier again and now we are back at 5.

Have tried a variety of things - all the obvious ones like black out blinds and Gro clocks, treat as a night waking, dropping / reducing his nap, earlier bedtime, later bedtime. It just doesn’t make any difference at all. It’s very rare but if he ever ends up in bed significantly later, say 9ish (if at a wedding or other occasion) he might sleep until 545/6 but it isn’t a massive difference.

I can sort of deal with it and have been pretty much resigned to the fact he’s just an early waker. The problem is it really does sort of affect the general structure of the day. He’s tired and flagging by 11, so he can nap then but it cuts into lunch, so either crazy early lunch or very late lunch (which in turn affects dinner) and activities are hard to do as well.

I’m also 36 weeks pregnant and I am a bit worried about potentially being up at 5 after being up all night! My other worry is screen time to be honest: he has more of it than he should because he’s up so early.

If there’s anything I haven’t thought of that’s great, just wondering if there is anything I haven’t tried? I think he just gets up early which is fine but just checking!
