BBQ manners (sort of light hearted!)

Picture a lovely BBQ in a nice garden, sitting round the table. All the food is in the centre of the table.

Would you consider it bad manners to start loading up your plate esp with say more than one hot dog at a time?

DH was acting like an underfed teenager last night and I called him out on it. Even if you are hungry and can see there is probably enough for you to double up, I think it is rude and sets a bad example to the kids to load your plate to the brim..

No, I don't think so, not if there is enough for everyone and you're actually going to eat it all. Go for it.

It would be rude if you filled a plate and then wasted it. Or if there was only enough for one each and you took two etc.

I think it's a bit rude to pull your DH up on his BBQ manners like he's a 9 year old. Hopefully, you did this just the two of you and not in front of everyone?!

Yes I would think it’s a bit rude but I’m not sure why! I think one of each meat things you want and go back for seconds if there is some still available.

DH and I always get our food after guests have served themselves, then he can take what he needs. But I do tend to over cater.

I think you take one and if invited to help yourself to seconds then do so. Filling up your plate as if you're at an all you can eat buffet seems greedy.
