AIBU or is this Father's Day card fucked up?!

Why would you send a Father's Day card with "dad I'd like to fuck" on? I am actually amazed it's for sale. Some of them are bad enough like "Thanks dad for jizzing in mum" but this one is something else.

AIBU or am I just a Mumsnet pearl clutcher?! 😂

its supposed to be for the father of your children from you

Why on earth would you get your partner a fathers day card that's not from their kid. That's fucking stupid and makes absolutely no sense.

Lots of people do.

Just like lots of men by their wives flowers on Mothers Day.

diamondpony80 · 14/06/2023 15:32

I was buying cards today and there was plenty “to my husband”, “to my boyfriend” etc on Father’s Day. Similar kind of thing but tackier.

gillefc82 · 14/06/2023 15:44

I agree - totally strange and very inappropriate! All of my Mother’s and Father’s Day cards for my parents are not like this. They are absolutely appropriate S they are all about me: their fantastic first born child, their favourite (we don’t have to say it out loud, everyone knows), where they peaked with their child bearing efforts (2 younger brothers after me, less said the better) and generally just reminding them how lucky they are to have me! After all, they wouldn’t be able to celebrate the day without me and it’s healthy to remind parents of that fact on the day that is all about them……

I saw one the other day that I assumed was for a step-father….

The picture was a cartoon image of some saggy and hairy testicles and the text said, “I know I didn’t come from your sack, but I know you’ll always have my back.”

It was grim.

It is grim but it also did kind of make me laugh 😳

Pretty sure my eldest (30) bought her stepdad that card a few years ago, we laughed 😁

Cas112 · 14/06/2023 15:57

Think it's probably for the partner to send rather than the child

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 14/06/2023 16:03

Why not? People like a card

If my husband got me a MILF card of mothers day it would make me feel queasy. And actually I bloody hate cards.

Yes - on behalf of their kids.

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 14/06/2023 16:06

It's a bit crude, but what's wrong with funny cards?

Pre kids I once gave my then husband a Father's Day card from our cat. It was this Far Side card and I wrote in it "Please dad, no dogs!"

DeflatedAgain · 14/06/2023 16:08

Omg 🤣

TheMurderousGoose · 14/06/2023 16:11

I mean I'd certainly like to observe the dynamics of a family where a daughter gave such a card to her father.

But yeah, I'd assume it's for a wife to give to her husband. Which reduces the weird factor a bit. Still definitely a bit weird though.

Boomshock · 14/06/2023 16:14

VanillaImpulse · 14/06/2023 14:16

Ok yes I did read it as it was from the child, never heard of a partner giving a card unless the child was too young. I guess people have lots of money to waste on these things!

😂😂😂

jellyminelli · 14/06/2023 16:16

It's like those you get from the cat. Just weirder

Why would you wife send a card to her husband on Fathers day ? That is weird.

I agree! It's very odd that people would send a Fathers' Day card to someone who isn't their father! Confused

<Waves>

I've got my DP a father's day card from the dog.

And a T-shirt with a drawing of our dog on it.

And a bottle of Copper Dog whisky.

And a box of chocolates.

All of which will be wrapped in paper that has dogs all over it.

Gymgoingfool · 14/06/2023 16:48

These responses are bonkers, the card is clearly from partner to partner. And plenty of people get their partners a parents day card. 😂

Mylifeislikeaboatrace · 14/06/2023 17:02

Tacky and cheap as fuck.

If it’s your partner it’s not really a “Dad I’d Like to Fuck”, but more “Dad I Have Fucked”/“Dad I Am Regularly Fucking”. So it’s a bit nonsensical.

Do you always take jokes so literally?

rwalker · 14/06/2023 17:21

Nothing wrong with it as long as the right person buys it ( think we’ve established it’s from partner)

but how the fuck would u explain that to a 2 year old that wanted to buy it as they liked the picture

SchoolShenanigans · 14/06/2023 17:25

Are women really buying their husbands father's day cards? Why? World gone mad.

Well you just change I'd to I. Would work a bit better 😆. This one is obviously for someone to give to their partner who is a dad - I imagine it will be picked up by unwitting people who don't realise what it means though so potentially a bit awkward 😅

The jizz one is weirder as it comes from a 'child', albeit probably an adult one. But some families have a weird sense of humour

BodegaSushi · 14/06/2023 17:37

Some people might like to give their partner/husband a card with a message like 'thanks for being a great dad' or whatever. You may not understand why but we all do things that others won't get. It's life. And yes people can spend their money however they like as well.

Srin · 14/06/2023 17:43

Seasonofthewitch83 · 14/06/2023 14:04

I saw a card today that said 'Daddys Little Girl'
'Dad, when I grow up I want to marry a man just like you! (Someone I can twist around my little finger and rely on for money.'

I vocally recoiled at that one in the shop. Horrendous!

That is truly awful!
