I'm 36 almost 37 and every night I seem to burn up no matter the temperature outside. My other half even comments that I'm like a radiator. I started checking my temperature at it says 37.8or 37.9. In general have been feeling shit for about 3 years since having youngest ds. My periods are regular and normal. So not sure what's going on. I'm getting bloods done tomorrow to check thyroid ect. I'm starting to worry though. This isn't normal to go on for so long is it?

Anyone any suggestions experience with this ?

Are you feeling hot or is it just when you check it, the temp is raised?

Does the thermometer work properly

Sounds like you are getting yourself checked put which is the correct thing to do.

Try not to panic or Google until your bloods come back

BigCheekBitch · 13/06/2023 13:09

Me too! My bloods have been fine but I'm so tired and feel so run down. Doctor didnt seem concerned about temp.

Wait for the blood test results and try not to worry before then. Hope it's nothing much.

What's your daytime temperature?

Starlingnest · 13/06/2023 13:23

I had this. Definitely get checked out just to be sure. For me blood results were normal. I also had gut issues (mixed constipation and diarrhoea) which I thought was unrelated. Turned out certain foods were causing low level gut inflammation which was making me run a bit hot but also feel constantly run down. A low fodmap diet has really improved my overall health, I no longer run slightly hot and generally feel well. I can tolerate some fodmaps, but not others. I don't stick to it religiously anymore, but I notice when I've overdone it as will start to feel run down.

What's a fodmap if you don't mind me asking?

Have you had a virus at any point before hand?
I had this for a while, after a flu virus had cleared up but for a good few weeks afterwards. It seems to have subsided now though.

Also - hormone level check for early onset of peri menopause maybe?

kelsaycobbles · 13/06/2023 14:50

Half degree variation is normal I thought ? With temperatures being highest usually before bed ?

Fodmaps are fermentable carbohydrates that can cause your gut bacteria to get out of whack resulting in gut inflammation which can lead to a slightly raised temperature, and generally being rundown, amongst other, varied symptoms. Things like lactose (in milk), fructose (in many fruits) and others, and some people (or their gut bacteria) can be sensitive to some or all of them.
