Not fair, my peerage has been stolen from me

AIBU to think that it is most unfair that I have not been given a peerage yet for my services to cesspits?

I personally am outraged that Stanley Johnson was not given a peerage for having fathered the greatest Prime Minister this country has ever had. Who cares now that he was a wifebeater? Mrs Johnson probably provoked him in some way, by breathing visibly, or similar.

<heavy sarcasm and total outrage emoji goes HERE>

Summerhillsquare · 13/06/2023 08:15

Waaaaahhh!

That's how the whole bloody lot of them sound. Sodding Tories.

GalileoHumpkins · 13/06/2023 08:17

Would it help if we all just gave you a hearty round of applause instead?

Lacucuracha · 13/06/2023 08:21

I can’t give you a peerage but if you give me £2k, I can make you a titled Lady of a Scottish castle of one square foot.

Cheaper than a real peerage, and without the expectation of actually attending parliament, you make a tempting offer.

I identify as a peer. you could do the same and solve your problem.

PedantScorner · 13/06/2023 16:32

I should have got a peerage because I grew up in poverty and had to borrow shoes to go to school because I was too big for my boots, and had to work my way up to where I am today without the privileges the Oxbridge types had,

Kiwano · 13/06/2023 17:49

Oh dear, and it turns out that the lovely friend who promised you a peerage has known since February that it's not going to happen. I just can't believe that he would lie about that or, well, anything.

PedantScorner · 13/06/2023 17:53

He's not lovely @Kiwano , he lies.

Nonsense, its all the fault of the swot who stole my friends job.

OP posts:
PedantScorner · 13/06/2023 20:41

Swot didn't steal his job, he was handed it on a plate after someone else stole it and ran away with it

jcyclops · 13/06/2023 20:46

I have always believed Nad was as mad as a box of frogs, but she comes out with "sinister forces denied her a seat in the Lords" and it made me wonder if she meant "sinister" as the opposite of "dexter" and is thus being very clever, ironic, sarcastic and humorous (but I doubt it).

It also seems that Labour, Libs and ScotNats think its totally acceptable for males to identify as a Lady and enter places reserved for Ladies - so all males can be Ladies if they want and thus go to the upper chamber that is reserved for Lords and Ladies.

There's no requirement or expectation of the actual ones to turn up.

So it would suit Nads then.

Well there's a first time for everything.

Did I hear ( or imagine ) that Boris's hairdresser was honoured ?

strawberrywhisk · 14/06/2023 18:42

Old Bo has awarded his 29 year old aide Charlotte Owen with a peerage, wondering what she did to deserve that

The answer is either who she is or did, seems to be some debate about it.

Are you still assuming that his promises of a peerage were actually followed through and he wasn't just doing his usual thing of lying to women to get what he wants from them?

'Oh yes, Nadine, of course when all of this is over, I'll make sure that you receive your due. Now, this party enquiry, just making sure you're still going to say that I did absolutely nothing wrong, aren't you? What? You didn't get one? I definitely put your name on the list, I don't know how that could have happened, must have been somebody who doesn't appreciate your loyalty in all things. It'll all be sorted out, just let's get through the enquiry business first and then I shall venture unto the breach, my dearest, most loyal Valkyrie (witters off into Cod Latin with the occasional Nordic sounding mumble). No, no, my dearest darling Hardy to my Nelson, of course there's a peerage, I think I'll even put you forward for Penny Wotsit's job, you'll be great at that sword wanging when it's needed again, much better than she was, we shall have our restitution, our Day of Reckoning just once we've got through this tawdry little enquiry thing and you shall ride as Boudicca into the Other Place - don't forget now, I wasn't there, was I, and I definitely wasn't fiddling, whether with a fiddler or just whilst Rome was in flagrante, as it is were?'

JanetandJohn500 · 14/06/2023 19:17

'Just a normal girl from a poor family in Liverpool.' 😱
Not you're not. No self-respecting Scouser would vote for that shower let alone be an MP for them and her friend Boris is the scum of the earth.

Jesus if I had to do him or his like I'd want a peerage, a castle and several million at the very least.

BinkyBeaufort · 14/06/2023 20:19

So Nads isn't resigning after all.
As one of her constituents, who has voted for anyone but her on the ballot paper in every election in bloody ages, I am extremely dischuffed.
Anyone fancy helping my dig a new patio???

I just want to be a dame - do I need to be a lot more bossy to qualify

No, you just need to be a man in women’s clothing. (At Christmas, anyway).

May I be the first person to say on Mumsnet "oh dear op, you sound very un-entitled".
