My youngest is a toddler (two) but displays some behaviour at times which slightly concerns me. He hates certain (common) smells and is very vocal about it. He hates certain things like feet anywhere near him, crumbs on the table, paint or pen marks on his hands. He hates bright lights and loud sounds which I know is pretty normal but he is also extremely sensitive to touch. If his siblings even tap him on his shoulder he has an extreme reaction and claims they hit him. He seems to be in genuine pain. If I'm holding his hand he complains I'm hurting his hand. He hates open doors and has to go close them no matter where he is and gets quite upset if told not to.I'm not sure if this is all normal or some sort of sensory problem?
A bit of info - He has two older siblings. Eldest is a teen with a very recent Autism diagnosis. He is what's considered "high functioning" hence it taking years to convince authorities for a referral and assessment. Issues (post lockdown) of extreme anxiety, OCD and burnout. Middle DC is 9 with suspected ADHD. Mentally gearing myself to fight/pursue a diagnosis as he also presents as "fine" but struggles massively below the surface. Both have a lot but wildly different sensory issues.
I feel like I've lost perspective of what's 'normal' or neurotypical toddler behaviour and what isn't due to my other DC. Anyone about to advise?
