To complain about delivery driver

At work today, town centre. Outside are two disabled spots they are both well used as right next to local public toilets. Supermarket delivery driver pulled in and stayed at least twenty minutes. I appreciate it’s tricky to find parking on a Sunday, it’s free so does get busy. I actually nipped out to get lunch and it was still there when I got back. Definitely no blue badge and I took a photo of van/ registration.

Yanbu - you should report so they can be retrained in appropriate parking

Yabu- don’t report you could lose someone their job

Just give them a tweet and ask them to remind their staff not to park there rather than dob in a specific staff member?

Surprised by the voting so far: 80% saying you are being unreasonable. I wonder if those voting thusly have ever tried to find a disabled spot in a busy location before… I’m guessing not.

He really shouldn’t have parked in a disabled spot for 20+ minutes.

It depends on how the disabled bay was marked. If edged in yellow then he should have got a ticket. If it's edged in white then anyone can park in it, badge or no badge.

None of our disabled spaces are in yellow, they are all white. Scotland so perhaps different. Signage very clear it’s blue badge holders only. Traffic wardens would of ticketed but they don’t do Sundays as parking is free.

Are delivery drivers perhaps allowed to use disabled bays if nothing else available? I googled and there seems to be the idea that they can if there’s nothing else.

This isn't true, it's really area dependent.

You need to check your local's council website.
