Get rid of my sky box? TV licence

Hardly ever use it, mainly use the tv for youtube/netflix/prime.

I do however use the bbc app occasionally.

Would I still need to pay for my TV licence? Do they check?? Be honest people. 👀

Whoops sorry that first paragraph should say Didn't watch or record live tv.

Additional info...
Its 8 years since I first told them I didn't need a licence, about 3 years ago that I watched the 2 episodes of Luther 🤣 and 12 months ago they put 2 and 2 together.

I disagree fundamentally with the licence fee, I only pay companies that don't threaten to imprison me if I don't subscribe to their service.

@ToeJammed sorry, didn't read it properly this morning - still half asleep! I thought you said you gave the money to support paedophiles! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I usually use this dreat website to watch anything, watch that’s been on other channels, such as news, tv movie etc

I'll never give my money to an organisation that supports paedophiles.

How principled of you, using a service but not paying for it, that’ll show them. Hypocrite!

People are so proud of 'not wasting their money on BBC' but admit to watching a couple of programmes a year. I watch a few progs, usually films on Netflix but pay monthly for the privilege (or DH does) and it doesn't anger me, I don't feel I need to get one over them - just pay for what you use FGS. Plus it is a lot of British actors, presenters, directors who are producing much of BBC progs - but hey - if you prefer to pay American companies for your online entertainment that's up to you.

Solymoly · 25/12/2023 06:42

Don't vote for Labour in the election as they will want to keep the TV licence

Landlubber2019 · 25/12/2023 06:58

I will be happy to pay my licence fee if it gets rid of the Tory shit show and their PPE fiasco @Solymoly

Solymoly · 25/12/2023 07:00

I pay for it anyway but a bit strange moaning about it then vote for the party that supports it
