Am away with work, so staying in a budget hotel last night

Known to be a bit noisy as above a pub, right in the centre of the city..

However, my room is also clearly near a glass bottle recycling facility, where lorries tip their loads.... 7 times since midnight!!! I've not had a wink of sleep.... and that was after the drunk man serenading the hotel with a drum kit made out of paint cans!

If the hotel weren't interested when you tried to speak to them I would write reviews on their website/tripadvisor etc in relation to the noise. Why are the central booking agents booking people in to a 1 star hotel anyway. I would have expected them to have a minimum standard they will use. Not sure if it can be logged with them in anyway so they don't reuse the same hotel.

I can understand your perspectives, but that's down to other businesses.
