To need a removal van

Hello everyone,

My daughter and I will be moving into a two bed property. We will be moving from a private 1bed studio apartment.

I'm considering hiring a removal van and/not including a package service. But I'm not sure if it would be worth the additional cost. We won't be taking the cooker, sofa, fridge and the washing machine as it's owned by the landlord. The only big items that we will be taking with us is a bed and a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bike. We do have a lot of small item stuff (books, old toys, clothes, shoes). Also, the new property is about 30 minutes away from our current place....so with all this in mind,Is it worth hiring a removal van?

You'll probably be able to get a "man with a van" off Facebook pretty cheaply. Be easier than trying to do it yourself.

We rented a van from enterprise recently to move house. It was about £75 for the van rental with a £200 deposit that was refunded as soon as the van was dropped back off.

It's a right faff hiring a van now, and not cheap. I would look on Facebook for a man with a van type people.

I would def hire someone, unless you are willing and able to actually do it yourself . You’re likely to injure yourself break stuff and gouge walls . A transit van and 2 people will be much easier and less stressful .

We've used anyvan.com to move furniture several times. They were a good price and their service was as described. Might be worth a look?
