In the next couple of weeks I’ve got a work event lasting on and off for 2 weeks, various different venues, long days, on my feet for hours… I’m so scared!! Please give me your tips on how to not be absolutely knackered and how to try and enjoy it rather than hate it?!

What industry are you in?

Comfortable shoes, ideally more than one pair so you can swap over part way through the day
Walking is easier than standing around if you can
Take breaks as often as possible, try to get outdoors as much as you can
Set yourself some daily/hourly targets or challenges eg talk to x number of new people/ swap 2 business cards/ find out one new thing about each colleague you are there with
Get a good book so you can get some head space in the evening
Keep energy up with snacks, try to make at least some of them healthy ones eg fruit or nuts
Try to get a room with a bath if possible, quiet bath with relaxing music and a face mask is bliss after interacting all day
Think about what would be the best possible outcome for you eg is it sales/networking/ learning, and then what would be good steps towards that, how would you know if you were on track to achieve that goal (linked to the daily challenges above)
Have painkillers and blister plasters on hand
Drink plenty of water

Good luck

Floradix iron tonic!

Plan ahead now to make home life easier during that time. Double check for any birthdays or events coming up for yourself or family that will need cards, costumes, forms etc.
Think about what you will wear each day, make sure it's clean and ironed.
Order a food shop, batch cook if that's your thing

Try and find some kind of routine even if it's not your usual one. Little things get up at the same time, make time for breakfast. If you can get outside at all do. Cut yourself some slack at home. Easy meals etc, delegate chores etc.

The hours are crazy it’s going to be really look days & the weather is looking really warm the days we are based outside, I like the sun but not to be working in it 🙈. Any tips on how to work outside whilst keeping cool?!
