To want to wash my mouth out with bleach?

So, bear with me while I explain why.

Last night I had a bad dream. I was being chased by a man who wanted to attack me. At some point I entered some kind of hotel with my partner who said we'd be safe there. Nope! The chaser knew I was there and was intent on getting to me. We were in a ground floor room with windows to the street (yeah, I know, crazy!)

I went to the bathroom in the hotel room and while in there the chaser came crashing through the window and attacked me. I tried and tried to scream for my partner in the next room, but I couldn't make any sound come out. The person was weirdly attacking my mouth.

By now my brain was in the early stages of waking and I gradually realised it wasn't a man attacking me, it was my dachshund, who sleeps on my bed, furiously licking my face. I must have made some noise when I was trying to force out the scream in my dream.

I was still not properly awake at this point and was in the grip of sleep paralysis. I could not for the life of me move a limb, even though I was struggling to do so. Worse, the dog was still madly licking my face and mouth and occasionally his tongue went in my mouth 🤮

I slowly came fully awake and was able to move my arms and fend off the licking onslaught. I'm not sure what was worse - the feeling of complete helplessness as I was unable to move, or the bloody dog licking my mouth. I obviously haven't used bleach, but there was a gallon of mouthwash used this morning - ugh!

Weirdly, I was only talking this week to my adult DD about the sleep paralysis that I suffered from a few times, years ago before she was born, so strange it happened again after so long.

Anyone else have any examples of experiencing sleep paralysis?

I haven't experienced it, but just want to say thanks for making me laugh 😆

Don't worry about it, dog saliva has antibacterial qualities despite them licking their bum 😁

No advice about sleep paralysis but roaring at the dachshund with his tongue on your mouth 😂mine is exactly the same. As soon as i yawn he is straight in there. I joke that it’s because he is so greedy he is looking for any food I might not have swallowed 😁

I wake up with my dachshunds tongue in my mouth all the time. One time, I felt a weird kind of pressure and realised she was in the process of pushing her edible chew in there, like she saw my face as some kind of additional storage pocket.

No sleep paralysis experience, but I definitely feel your pain on inappropriate dogs with mouth fixations.
