To be annoyed by wasted journey to hairdressers?

Booked online for a dry cut.
Got there and she led me to the sink. I told her I had only booked a dry cut and she said ' we don't do those anymore'. I told her it was on the website 'Well it's out of date.'
But my booking was still approved I said. Still she insists. Reason I booked this specifically was it saves money and I hate them washing my hair. Ended up walking out.

That's very annoying. They should've honoured the booking and just warned they wouldn't again in future.

MargotDeWitt · 31/05/2023 22:59

It's totally on them for having an out of date website!

Wet cut I would have thought.

PinkRiceKrispies · 31/05/2023 23:24

I wasted travel time getting there also.
A wash is £10 more which I wanted to save as I hate the experience and only have a trim with some longer layers put in.
Really frustrated with them.

Yanbu it's up to them to keep their website up to date

TyneTeas · 31/05/2023 23:30

Yes, they should have either done a dry cut as booked (and then updated their website) or, with your agreement (noting you don't like the wet bit) done a wet cut at no additional cost (and then updated their website)

I'm a hairdresser, I think that was appalling of the salon not to honour your chosen service. Sounds to me like they are trying to make extra money by removing dry cuts. Surely under trading standards they are breaching consumer rights? I do loads of dry cuts, for many different reasons - if I didn't offer them I would lose about 30% of my loyal client base. Good for you for leaving.

PinkRiceKrispies · 01/06/2023 12:44

Thanks all. Have put in a complaint as feel they were unfair on this.

Legally you had a contract with the hairdresser's which they failed to homour. It was also incredibly rude of them to behave that way. Unless you are actually psychic how would you know?

Complain with gusto.

MargotDeWitt · 02/11/2023 06:34

@TeaGinandFags I would think that all was resolved months ago, and OP has had her hair done successfully several times since then!
