Dog poop at our gates

Our neighbours dog often poops at the entrance to our drive. Our house is about 5 meters off the road not down a big massive drive.

Context is needed - we live on a 1 lane country road, it's about 1.5 mile long and has 4 houses on it in the middle of the country side, we are farmers, as is this neighbour.

The neighbour walks her dogs every day one of them often poops at our gate, we have a little dog and I guess he is trying to taunt him. That same dog sometimes jumps into our garden I've caught him a few times, my dog has as well and loses his shit! She just walks on passed and lets them follow her as they wish, they are not on leads.

I don't like that they poop at our entrance but it drives absolutely DH crazy! I do watch for it when I go for my daily walk with DS. Because of the sort of area we live in though I'm not sure what to expect.

YABU - It's the country side let dogs poop where they want
YANBU - It's a bit mank to do it right at your entrance

As a dog owner I would never leave my dog’s mess anywhere, I always pick it up even in the middle of an empty field. That is disgusting & I’ll happily point that out to any owner I catch not picking it up

You need this sign which I saw on a walk the other day.

Hello owners of said gate and cat, if you are on MN, I hope you don’t mind me sharing because this is brilliant and it made my day.

Sorry just realised you have to click on the image to see the whole thing and the judging cat! 🤣

@mindutopia 😂I didn't spot the cat at first!! I may need to get a cat 🤔poor dog would lose his mind even more.

Some dogs are able to jump that cattle grid. Because checking the post yesterday my dog followed me and started sniffing the gate and I saw fresh pee on the gate. Well I assume that's what it was the gate was wet.

@TheMooney I think her dogs do it to taunt mine. You'd spot the odd one when walking the lane and it doesn't bother me.

BTW - I grew up in town and have lived in cities, if a neighbour's dog was doing this on a public footpath there I'd say something. I wouldn't mind it anywhere else along the lane and honestly wouldn't expect it to be picked up. There are lot of animals all around here so a bit of dog poop won't made any odds.

Great image, nice Watch Cat. The sign needs to add 'your photograph will be attached if I have to post this again'.

Get a shovel, scrape it up and dump it outside her drive, every time!
Not picking up after your dog is disgusting, my dog poos and it's difficult to shift her when she settled in for a poo but I always pick it up
