Wise mums I need your advice! First time Mum to a beautiful week old DD.

The egg thermometer says our bedroom is 24 degrees, shall I leave her in a vest with a cellular blanket wrapped around her tonight or put a babygrow on too?

Her back feels quite warm.

I would put a baby grow on, but lose the vest. Babies can't regulate their own body heat, and the temp does drop in the night.

If it was going to drop down to 20, then a baby grow as well. I'm in the NW and it's getting nippy here.

At 24 degrees I would have used a vest and a summer weight 0.5 tog grow bag.

If room is 24 degrees a cellular blanket and vest will be perfect. Obvs she is in your room as only a week old so you can keep a check on her when feeding and nappy changing. Enjoy this lovely time.

I just wanted to add that we found this amazing for our newborn and unlike most sleeping bags/sacks this can be used from birth.
Our DD was very snug in it as it's nice and snug at the top and it's only 1 tog so good for this kind of temperature. I felt like I was constantly freaking out about blankets moving!
I hope you are doing ok - this time is a crazy time!

I never once used a vest with mine, even in the winter. Cotton Sleep suit will be fine.

A babygrow as well imo. I know it's super nerve wracking when they are small because they warn about overheating, but I've always found the advice on what to put them in have left my two cold, especially my second child. I have a 2 year old upstairs asleep in a 3.5 tog sleeping bag. According to the chart, that should be for very cold winter, but she wakes up at 5am cold in anything less. Her room drops to 20 in the night at the moment.

Thanks everyone. I ended up leaving her in a babygrow without a vest with the cellular blanket doubled over and around her. She slept for 5 hours in between feeds so she must of been comfy 🥰
